Holiday in Lake Maggiore.

AROLO, LEGGIUNO

WELCOME TO

The east side of the lake.

AROLO, LEGGIUNO

WHERE TO STAY IN

Lake Maggiore, Italy.

Lake Maggiore (meaning major) spans around 65 km, bordering northern Italy and the Ticino region of Switzerland. Surrounded by Piedmont's lower Alps, the Mediterranean climate is gentle and the exotic vegetation is lush.

There are many fantastic base points along the shore, including Stresa, Locarno and Ascona.

Having explored most lake-side towns, we settled in Arolo, situated on the east side of the Lake Maggiore. This side of the lake was once considered the poor side, as it gets more sun! As a result, it's lesser known and less touristy, but more authentic and still in a perfect location for visiting towns on the other side of the lake.

ABOUT

Arolo, Leggiuno.

Arolo itself is a beautful old lakeside village, famous for its unspoilt beach and harbour.

The house has direct access to the beach area, which has a good cafe / bar and childrens playground, as well as a large grassed area to sit and steps down to the lake for swimming. Arolo has only a few restaurants, but is close to many other towns and villages with lots to offer.
