Yes, our most popular visiting times are in the warmer months from April - October, but a stay can still be very enjoyable January - March. Temperatures may be lower but as we are located on the east side of the lake you will be able to enjoy more sun and a more peaceful experience, when venturing out to other areas along the lake.

Average temperatures: Highs of 8°and lows of 2°
Average rainfall: 5 days
January is the coldest month of the year along Lake Maggiore. You can expect around 7-9 hours of daylight. However, it is still warmer than most places in Europe around this time. We'd advise packing warm clothes - and of course suitable snow boots if you plan to venture higher into the mountains! Some visitors to the region regard it as a good month for skiing and hiking.

Average rainfall: 3.5 days
February is seen as ideal for those looking to experience skiing and hiking. Although temperatures can reach as low at 3°, this is usually only experienced early morning and late at night. You can expect around 9 - 11 hours of daylight.
Also of note is the very low chance of rain. And again as it's off-season, many may enjoy the peace and quiet of visiting without the crowds.

With spring approaching you can expect to see longer days and around 11-12 hours of daylight. You can enjoy much higher temperatures than February, but note that rainfall is often higher.
March is a great time to get out hiking and exploring the woodland and towns along the lake.

Rainfall is higher in April, but visitors are rewarded with the re-emergence of the lake's infamous lush exotic vegetation.

May is a popular time to visit Lake Maggiore, particularly with schools breaking up for the holidays. Temperatures really start to heat up and it's a very pleasant time to explore. Daylight hours are now on average around 14-15 hours, meaning you can comfortably stay out by the pool in the evening with a glass of wine.
May does experience an increased rainfall though - so come prepared just in case.

Visitor numbers really begin to rise in June thanks to the balmy temperatures. It's considered high season - so do bear this in mind if you're after a quieter experience. Enjoy long days with an average of 15 hours daylight. Fortunately, despite there still being a decent chance of rain, the showers don't last long in June and shouldn't ruin your plans.
